Burgundy Vineyard/Education Tours June and July 2027

Open registration starts in late September.

OUR INAUGURAL TOUR/EDUCATION PROGRAM was in 2024, and in 2025 and 2026 we hosted two programs each year (one featuring white burgundy and one red burgundy), held in the vineyards and classrooms of Burgundy.

EACH 3 ½ DAY PROGRAM we offer focuses on learning from the “roots up” in the vineyards and classroom-style settings in Burgundy. Being in the vineyards gives burg lovers a great appreciation for, and understanding of, what makes the wines what they are – and about the terroirs that are expressed in each glass of burgundy. Due to our statement of principles (where we don’t ask domaines for favors) we will not be visiting domaines. Each program is focused on in-depth educational sessions, time in the vineyards, and a deep dive into one commune in the form of a Masterclass and tasting, and an additional overview tasting to review the communes we visited. This exclusive opportunity in 2027 will be limited to 15 participants per program to help ensure all of your questions and program goals can be met. Spots are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, assuming the deposit and signed waiver are received in a timely manner.

2027 – We will offer two different programs, hosted by Allen, Erica and Chris Meadows:

Tour 1: The Côte de Beaune Vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet – 28 June – 1 July

Tour 2: The Côte de Nuits Vineyards of Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin – 5 July – 8 July

PROGRAM 1 – Côte de Beaune Vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Monday 28 June – Our full morning session with Allen (indoors) includes an overview of Burgundy, an intro to its history, a discussion of the vineyards and wines of Puligny-Montrachet, and a Q&A session followed by lunch. This is a great time for us to learn the goals of each participant since this is such an intimate-sized group. Then we will board our private shuttle bus with a professional driver to visit and walk along the vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet for a full-afternoon educational program.

Tuesday 29 June – After a morning intro on the region and wines of Meursault, we board our shuttle to visit and walk along the vineyards of Meursault, followed by lunch (indoors). We will then move into a private event room for an afternoon masterclass. In preparation for our Wednesday vineyard tour, Allen will guide us on our in-depth dive as we taste wines up and down the Chassagne-Montrachet hierarchy.

Wednesday 30 June – This morning’s intro will focus on the winemaking and viticulture practices and advances in Burgundy, before boarding our shuttle to visit and walk along the vineyards of Chassagne-Montrachet, followed by lunch (indoors). After lunch, we will move into a private room for an afternoon tasting. We will wrap up the 3 communes we have visited with a tasting of wines up and down the hierarchy of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, for a final in-depth dive.

Thursday 1 July – This is your day to explore Beaune, visit domaines, shop for wine, recover, etc. In the evening, we will close out the program with a celebratory dinner. Dinner will be Paulée-style where all participants (including us) share bottles from their/our own cellars.

PROGRAM 2 – Côte de Nuits Vineyards of Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin –

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Monday 5 July – Our full morning session with Allen (indoors) includes an overview of Burgundy, an intro to its history, a discussion of the vineyards and wines of Vosne-Romanée and a Q&A session followed by lunch (indoors). Like program #1, this is a great time for us to learn the goals of each participant since this is such an intimate-sized group. Then we will board our private shuttle bus with a professional driver to visit and walk along the vineyards of Vosne-Romanée for a full-afternoon educational program. And our time on the bus is a great opportunity for a Q&A session as well.

Tuesday 6 July – After a morning intro to the commune and wines of Chambolle-Musigny, we board our shuttle to visit and walk along and learn about the vineyards of Chambolle, followed by lunch (indoors). We will then move into a private event room for an afternoon masterclass tasting. In preparation for our Wednesday vineyard tour, we will be tasting and exploring wines up and down the Gevrey-Chambertin hierarchy.

Wednesday 7 July – This morning’s intro will focus on the winemaking and viticulture practices and advances in Burgundy, before boarding our shuttle to visit and walk along the vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin. After lunch (indoors), we will host a recap tasting to dive a little deeper into the 3 communes we have visited with wines up and down the hierarchy of Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, for a final in-depth dive.

Thursday 7 July – As with program #1, this is your day to explore Beaune, visit domaines, shop for wine, recover, etc. In the evening, we will close out the program with a celebratory dinner. Dinner will be Paulée-style where all participants (including us) share bottles from their/our own cellars.

HOW TO REGISTER

Early registration (1-27 September). Open registration (starts 28 September). To register, you simply email mrsburghound@burghound.com to ask to hold a spot(s). In return, you will receive a more detailed information packet and the waiver. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. To confirm a spot, the non-refundable deposit and signed waiver must be received and acknowledged by Burghound.com.

COST: Each tour is US $9,985.00 (excludes hotel, airfare, breakfasts and dinners except for the final evening of both programs).

To confirm/reserve a space, a non-refundable US $2,355.00 deposit is due along with a signed waiver. The balance ($7,630.00) will be due by 20 January 2027. Upon confirmation, Burghound will send the current Travel Guide to assist with hotel reservations, etc. All funds are to be wired in US$ to Burghound.com, Inc – wire instructions will be provided.
