Scherrer Winery Wine: 2002 Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley

Producer: Scherrer Winery

Comment: (860 cases produced from Russian River Valley fruit bottled at 14.5% alcohol). Spice and lots of cinnamon and clove add nuance to the pretty violet and red fruit aromas that highlight rich, sweet and nicely delineated medium weight flavors that display no traces of warmth or undue heaviness. In short, this is delicious, beautifully well balanced and quite persistent. Recommended for value and this should drink well early. 88/2006+

Suggested Price: $35

Important Note: Burghound.com com has no financial relationship of any kind with the Scherrer Winery.

Each month we feature a different Burgundy or, occasionally, a wine in the Burgundy tradition from another world wine region. While there will be a mix of vintages, most wines featured will be those that can normally be found at a variety of fine wine retailers. Each wine will be described and rated with a suggested window of peak drinkability indicated after the numerical score. Prices shown are estimated retail in the U.S., but prices do of course vary widely depending on the retailer.
